Individual Counseling Services in Plymouth Meeting:

Anxiety Counseling & Stress Management

To address your stress and help you manage your anxiety and/or depression, our focus will be on gaining insights and understanding as well as establishing effective coping mechanisms.

I use a variety of evidence-based and research-supported treatment approaches during therapy sessions in Plymouth Meeting, including:

  • COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (CBT)
CBT is a widely used evidence-based approach that focuses on understanding the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. The goal is to identify and challenge your negative or distorted thinking patterns and replace them with more realistic and positive thoughts. By changing your unhealthy beliefs and behaviors, CBT can improve your mental well-being and promote a positive outlook.

  • MINDFULNESS TRAINING
Mindfulness is a practice that involves intentionally bringing your attention to the present moment. It’s about being fully aware of your thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and the environment around you, without passing judgment. It can serve to reduce stress, increase self-awareness, strengthen focus and improve your mental and physical health.

  • EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE (EFT TAPPING)
EFT Tapping is a healing mind-body technique that can help to release emotional or physical distress by balancing the body’s energy system. It involves tapping with your fingertips on acupressure points on your body while focusing your mind on concerns or uncomfortable feelings, and using positive affirmations to neutralize those feelings.

Grief Counseling & Trauma Therapy

For grief and trauma related to unresolved issues, loss, and incidents of abuse, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing may be used as an adjunct to other treatment approaches:

  • EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITIZATION & REPROCESSING (EMDR)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy technique used to treat trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other related conditions. It can help you process and reduce emotional distress associated with traumatic experiences or disturbing memories.
